Service providers

The companies that help Michoozon Inc. provide Samwell, what they process and where.

Supabase

  • Service: database, authentication, file storage, server functions.
  • Data: all of the service's data.
  • Location: Canada, ca-central-1 region ("Canada Central"), on Amazon Web Services.

DigitalOcean

  • Service: hosts the web application and serves Samwell's pages.
  • Data: in transit only (pages and forms); technical logs.
  • Location: Canada (Toronto).

Stripe

  • Service: payment of the organization's subscription.
  • Data: the organization's billing name and address, the contact person's email, the card entered directly at Stripe. No staff data.
  • Location: Canada and the United States, among others.

Resend

  • Service: sign-in links, reminders and notifications each person chose, application confirmations, official receipts.
  • Data: the recipient's email address and the message content.
  • Location: United States.

Browser notification services (Apple, Google, Mozilla)

  • Service: deliver notifications to a browser, only if the person turns them on.
  • Data: end-to-end encrypted notifications (Web Push); the service cannot read their content.
  • Location: depends on the browser maker.

Expo

  • Service: deliver notifications to the mobile app (then Apple or Google), only if the person turns them on.
  • Data: device token, notification title and text (organization name, names mentioned). These notifications are not end-to-end encrypted.
  • Location: outside Canada (Google Cloud infrastructure).

Cloudflare

  • Service: network in front of the site, and anti-bot check (Turnstile) on public forms.
  • Data: IP address, in transit; browser signals read by Turnstile.
  • Location: global network; processing location not specified by Cloudflare.

8x8 (Jitsi Meet)

  • Service: Jitsi Meet rooms (meet.jit.si) offered for an activity or a conversation, only if the organization chooses them.
  • Data: room name (it contains the organization's name), voice and display name of participants.
  • Location: not specified by 8x8.

Changes

Any new service provider is announced at least 30 days in advance on this page and in the application.
