Frequently asked questions
Who can see an employee’s record?
Only people whose role allows it, based on the roles you set. Permissions are enforced by the database, not just on screen. Each person can also see who viewed their record.
What happens when an employee leaves?
You record the departure: their access, roles and pay stop, and their Record of Employment is prepared for payroll. Their record stays with the organization for as long as the law requires. A departure recorded by mistake can be cancelled.
Can we bring over our existing data?
Yes. You import your members from a CSV or Excel file, then invite them. Payroll data from your previous system is imported the same way.
Where is employee data hosted?
In Canada: the database, files and authentication are hosted in the Canada Central region. Social insurance numbers and bank accounts are encrypted separately and shown masked.
